My Mom's wonderful adventures in the amazing Computerland

Have I mentioned my growing admiration for my mother, now in her sixties? She has learned to use the computer a few years ago and she has been using an English operating system without speaking any English whatsoever. Which causes for her calling us, my brother, his wife or myself whenever there is "a new window". Yeah, you've guessed it! She is using Windows.

Below, you will find my translation of her two most recent messages to my brother. Just in case I was not clear, she had Internet installed. Way to go, Mom! And she is now chatting with us by means of MSN. My brother decreed IM was too difficult for now. Anyway, enjoy. I laughed myself hysterically, even I don't really have a voice now with this damn flue, cold or whatever it is.

The green man - episode one

I have bad news for you! I think I have accidentally deleted the little green man appearing down on the right side of the task bar, I wanted to open him and he disappeared. I think I did not see too well at the time and I hit a different key, maybe delete. But I do not have him anymore, please put him back on! Bye! And stop talking behind my back when I ask for help with the viruses pestering me! Because I have a lot of work and the last thing I need is viruses. We need the doe. Bye!

The green man returns, naturally - episode two

The Mars man is back! Uhm, that is the green man. False alarm! Well, but yesterday morning there we had a red alert: this window was asking me something! And I had no clue what!This was all happening when I needed to access my mail. So I have shut-down the computer and left to the site. I went to Surduc, to the lake, all the way round to Fardea and I have returned through Nadrag! I arrived back home at six thirty... message continues with stuff between my mother and my brother.
